I know what the man said.
Anyone on this board ever see anyone pack a 12 volt battery, with antenna and co-ax while deer hunting? So his options are....handheld. Period.
And 11 meter, ain't gonna do the job....end of story.
What would you choose

"I know what the man said."
Yes but you failed to READ what the man said.
Hank W. Jr. revisited or what. He was making a radio comparison by analogy to hunting, i.e., the bigger gun with the bigger round is best for the larger trophy. In effect saying the bigger radio is best. Is English no longer used in America? Or is logic the missing factor? No I say, its all of the above. He was not asking for rocket science. Nor was He talking about what radio would you carry WHILE HUNTING! -
Can't believe you had to explain that! Connex 4600/Savage .270 of course.
-
I'm not a real good shot so to be sure I do not miss I prefer the M134A. But that's just me. Especially good for making you feel safe when hunting near the border.

Exactally!!!!!
I was not talking about using a radio out while hunting. It was a comparison.
Out hunting, we carry them little handheld 2 ways and they are great and they get the job done better then CB but this thread is not about handheld comunicators.
Remember, your only options are what I have listed. -
If I wanted to take your view on this why would I use the junky FRS/GMRS radios? They lack range. I would just use my 2 meter HT. Your radios can't compare. Then I would be making the same dumb statement as you about another radio service. Or should I just use one of my HF rigs? Since it must be the same thing. Oh, I forgot should I toss in my Ameritron AL811 since it's the same. How can you change it from CB 11 meter band topic to a UHF band? It's like telling Dispatch I know the load is going to LA. But I going to take it to New York City anyway.

I read what the man said.
But, I can't recall ever using the "scattered" conversation method. By first directing the conversation to how a nuclear reactor works, then asking my wife which pair of jeans make my ### look fat.
That said...hell lets say it like it is. ALL three choices of guns suck.
The Weatherby Vanguard out performs all at half the price. Equal price if SUB-MOA is wanted. And offers a larger selection of caliber choices. -
270 is the only option for the deer and for meat i'd hunt doe's, and i'd go with the connex.
-
Well if you are going for steaks etc then I would agree 100%.
-
Guess some still don't understand the question. But I'd take a buck if it passed but don't have any problems taking doe's and filling a freezer.
