If you guys can't figure out how to use this method with 3- 4" straps when you can't use chain, then you're trolling.
There's a coil yard SW of Cincinnati where the loader showed me how to do this years ago, and when you've been told at other locations to set up your chains while loading slinkys, then you know what they're talking about.

Well I forgot to get a picture with the Chain on but it was pulling back on the first coil like a typical suicide coil with a moving blanket folded in four under the chain with a mudflap under each side where the chain made contact with the coil. I stopped a few miles away and removed the chain just in case and there was no damage to the coil. 20160810_141859.jpg

They make beautiful flatbeds. I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet. Oh wait except that there is a panel behind the lights that you have to remove to get to the back of your lights. You'd think they would put anchor nuts on the panel but nooooo. You gotta hug that friggin dot bar to have one wrench on the bolt and another on the nut to take it off.

Not my proudest picture but you see the 2 bolts horizontal above the license plate light. They hold on a panel on the back. One of my lights had fallen in. Bad gasket on my old trailer but same model. 20160707_121312.jpg

I'd like to have a trailer like that. As long as it's in good repair, I wouldn't have to be so paranoid about rain when hauling tarped steel. Even brand new tarps leaks.

Looks like somebody took a left turn a bit too fast. :)

I honestly couldn't think of any fast turns with that load. It should have been stacked different and I learned a lot. There is a thread on it.

    Question about these "slinkies".

Are they given to rotating while in transit? Seems to me that would be bad for straps.

They only rotate if you slam into a parked semi doing 62 mph.
