That's not entirely true. I never had a dr. or dentist just "give out" penicillin. I had a tooth fester up BIG time once on vacation in Florida, puffy face, green snot, the whole magila. Got out the Yeller Pages, found, "Dr. Love, 8 to noon M-F, all we do is extractions". Went in, sat with the several other folks holding their jaws, it was no day at the beach, had to pay with CC up front, so it was goodbye Sea World, but he took care of it, and never did give me any antibiotic, it went down by itself. About the health risk, IDK, my mom was a nurse for 45 years and always advocated proper health, naturally, she told me, "you know "Eddie
had terrible teeth and a rift of heart problems". I said, "mom, "Eddie" smoked 2 packs of cigarettes for 40 years, think that had anything to do with his heart problems"?

 

Driver a tooth abscess can kill you. I’d deliver that load and refuse any new loads and head to the nearest dentist you can get to work on you. If your dispatcher refused to acknowledge your health situation I would jump ship those kind of dispatchers tend to put their drivers under the bus at the first sign of trouble.

OK, take a 45 cal ACP, pull the lead off it and push it down on the tooth. Take a nail and put the point on the primer and hit the nail with a hammer. The powder charge will cauterize the tooth and your problem is solved.

Take care of your tooth, resign from your beancounter company and go to a small place where the owner is the dispatcher and youre free to cuss each other out one week then say sorry shake hands and have a beer the week after. Do an honest days work for an honest days pay and see if you still dont like trucking before you quit for good.

 

It sounds kind of harsh, but if he can't figure out to go to the dentist when he needs to, he will have a tough time running the road anyway, this will not be the last time something comes up.

 

Nobody is perfect. If they were i reckon theyd do something better than trucking.

 

Trust me I know, but most folks know when they need a dentist and goes to one. If he is in Texas he can stop at a feed store and get some penicillin, or or to a pet store anywhere and get the watered down penicillin.

Every town has dentists. Call around and go to whoever takes your insurance and can see you right away.
No need to go home for this.
Ask permission from the truck stop to drop the trailer for couple hours and bobtail over.
