15 years ago a friend of mines wife managed a convenience store in a small town in Az. The convenience store was part of a large chain, and probably paid there normal help minimum wage or maybe a hair more, but to work there you had to pass a credit check. She had a hard time keeping the place staffed because of it.

Reason to check the farmers: Some of the large corporate farms;held by insurance companies that foreclosed them, are actually "plowing"the USDA plans deeper than the dirt. All government assistance
plans have very "beneficial" loopholes when examined by sharp eyed accountants and attorneys

I recall having my credit report checked by a small loan company i once worked for.
I asked why. It had been made clear I nor my immediate family/relatives would not
    be able to borrow there.
Answer then was, a man that does not pay his bills cannot really get down in collecting from
someone else who does not pay.
Real reason was too many managers making loan sets out in name of an old customer who
had not been active and making the payments them selves.
People who need money will steal..

Bad credit or even people that needs money does not make them a thief. Heck the biggest crooks are pretty well off usually.

I can see having a credit check if you are applying for a job. But your employer's customer requiring one... They can go pound sand. There are too many other places out there just begging for drivers. No way would I agree to that.

Where you at? Good people are responding to you!

Anyway........By Complying,Your giving the people with deep pockets and "time" Just what they want-
You guys that say "I'll comply" Are the very reason Your constitutional Rights get infringed upon Slowly every year.

You cant even live a Free life anymore- Pathetic,.

So What, That you have a family and Bills- EVERYONE does! Stand Up for whats right- Being a Pushover because you bought the Wife a 48 thousand dollar Crossover and a White Picket fence home in the Burbs having Barbeques Doesn't mean your a slave to the system

    I would NEVER allow This........

You just wait folks- Keep Jumping up and down at others inappropriate requests- They'll Own your life like Hitler did.

Well, I do agree with you, the Hitler thing is going a bit far, but you're correct in some of your statements, but I feel, if you are part of the system ( buying fancy cars and houses the Shah of Iran would be proud of), then yes, these companies can tell you whatever they want, and that lifestyle is so addictive, many will do what it takes to keep that lifestyle going. It must be a good paying job or the OP wouldn't take it either, but they may have no choice. I know, being an old outlaw, I've quit several jobs for many reasons, but back then, changing jobs, especially a trucking job was no big deal. I had 2 jobs in a week once.Today, that's just not the case, and I'm glad I don't have to weigh that option just to get a dang paycheck from a job that years ago, was almost the bottom of the barrel ( according to my old man) as far as jobs go. Who would have thought it would turn into this?

lol, I dunno know anymore I tell ya.....People Just don't say "No" anymore or Stand up for whats right...

If people are going to "comply" with personal information to give a "customer" to hold a job- Whats Next??

Believe me when I say this......If you Keep giving the Power at Hand what they want, It will NEVER stop.

And its not beinbg rebellious at all- Its Your Personal Credit. Next They'll want to know your Health History Too.

It Wont stop until People make it stop.

I hear you, brother, but people today aren't like you and I, that have some of that WW2 attitude from our fathers in us, that, by the way, made our country great because at the time, they didn't have a lot to lose and strived to make it better. Today, with all the debt and craziness, people today indeed have a lot to lose without a lot of options. For many today, and for all we know, could be the OP's case, they literally CAN'T quit, and may be the only job around. It's a mess, and just like when drug testing came around, refuse? Bam, you're done, and with the cost of everything today and I'm sure having damage from some bozo in a truck that took off, these companies have no choice either. One thing for sure, as evidenced by this thread, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, and I'm glad I just have to read about it and not actually affects me. Can you imagine if some poor guy came home saying, "dear, we're losing the home and the SUV because I just quit my job because they want a credit check". That would probably be even uglier than just complying. See what a mess we're in?
