Yes Sir! I retired in 1992 at Parris Island as the Recruit Training Regiment Operations Chief. Achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and many times wish I had stayed for thirty years vice twenty.
Thanks for the additional info and you have a great day.
What would YOU do?

I'd keep going. It would be smooth sailing after people started parking.

Here's what I've learned...drive the conditions...slow the #### down, and pull over when ya can.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 2, 2012
skellr Thanks this. -
I agree that would have most likely been my decision as well. I recall many years ago when I encountered the same situation while crossing Nebraska. The roads were iced over and at that time truck stops across Nebraska were far and few between. I had no choice but to continue my journey at 20 mph and as I recall it was an all night trip.
I think what is important is that no matter what regulations we are required to follow is that we are all morally responsible to operate our vehicles in a safe manner and make decisions that keep with not only our safety but the publics safety as well. -
Thanks 6shooter. I enjoyed that post it was very well put!
6Shooter Thanks this. -
I would have no issue driving in conditions like that myself. HOWEVER, like this trucker found out, experience and ability can be trumped by the lack thereof of others http://rmirror.net/r/videos/comments/q5hu9/car_accident_nsfl/

i would be filming myself losing traction. who ever filmed that is an IDIOT

This thread is beyond repair. It's now closed.
Some days we have as many as 5000 posts. We can't catch them all. Someone please report next time a thread gets out of hand.
Those involved, everyone is allowed to agree to disagree. There is a time when you walk away and save the useless name calling and irrelevant post. Had I caught this earlier there would of been a bunch of deleting and editing. Let's try to keep these forums civil for the others that want to read them. They don't care to read a bunch of garbage. -
Also, if you are not able to ignore someone on your own, then please place them on your ignore list. You won't have to read anything that they post, if you do that. Thanks.
lonewolf4ad, Marranhick and 6Shooter Thank this.
