Ozark doesnt discuss canada because we dont go there. Im speaking of my previous companies and they said by law as of 2009 in order to cross border you must have passport. If you didnt need it why would companies request for you to get it?

I would tend to trust the guys on the border with the badge telling me I can or cannot come into the country more.

That's a bad idea. There might well be a different one working the booth when you arrive at the POE and what are you going to tell him? Officer Johnny told me I didn't need one? One time I left my passport home so I called the POE to ask if I could cross on DL and BC. "Absoloutely not" the man said.

    Ghost Ryder Thanks this.

You were linked the actual regulations. Personally, I would trust that more than a guy with a badge.

I know what you're saying though. Having a passport wasn't always a requirement to hop the border into Canada, but 9/11 changed that.

No, they weren't "regulations". They were a partial list of items.

Are you a US citizen? That is totally not aloud since 9/11. There are a few loop holes, and if you have been going back and forth long enough you may be grandfathered in, but read up on the current regs. US Citizens need a passcard or passprt to drive into and back from Canada. Is your company a member of FAST or NEXUS? (then you dont need it) What border crossing? They are all supposed to require it to get back to the US now days but maybe some borders are not up to code.

There is "legaleze" that is going on here. I WILL say that. In my discussions, I have had it explained to me. Because of greater issues, I can't share what has been shared with me.

I just know that I can, and will continue into the future, doing what I am doing.

Argue your point all you want. I am through.
