I agree,.. you guys are right about the permits.
Its the weekend.. I think I'll be good as soon as I make PA. Like I said,.. if I get popped north of PA,.. well I only have myself to blame.
Oh and yes,.. momma will not let me hear the end of it. Shes a retired sheriffs deputy, still has her PI license. Shes a by the book kind of person and would hang me from a tree if she knew half the stuff I do.

being only 3 inches over. would you NOT be allowed to run at night? even if you had to light the sides.
it's doable on the west side of the country. -
Hang the signs....

You'll spend more on the sniper video game in truck stops than on those permits. If you wanna be an outlaw. Don't actually do your pretrip just log it😂
281ric Thanks this. -
No night travel in alot of states east of the Mississippi River. Plus no wkend travel in some of those states either.
SMTatham Thanks this. -

I'm permitted up to Hubbard Oh. Thats where they think its going.
Made it as far as Nashville. Blew upper radiator hose back on i65 25 mi south of here. I started smelling it,.. saw the T/A and whipped it in there. They didnt have the hose in stock. But they did have some rescue tape.
Took the hose off, cleaned it up with some 409 cleaner I use to clean my hibachi grill for bar-b-queing while out on the road. Used all the rescue tape, then broke out a new roll of gorilla tape. Used their nasty water at the pumps to fill up some jugs and now I'm at Freightliner in Nashville waiting for them to open so I can buy a hose.
I have a Columbia with a C15. Seems its an oddball truck because soon as I say I have a C15, everyone shakes their head and says they have to order what ever it is I need.
Oh and you wanna hear something retarded? Seems I went to sleep last nigh with my running light on. The whole time I was on the laptop this morning typing here on TTR and getting my permits, I heated a couple hot dogs in the microwave,.. I then went to start the truck after I finished eating and,.. you guessed it. Nodda. I realized what I did, and I was like fuuuug!! I left them on and dimmed the dash lights. That and a 2500 watt inverter running a hotel size mini fridge plus my microwave and my laptop,.. I guess the deep cycle wasnt so deep. LOL
I was in the middle of no where, so I had to unload the excavator and use it to jump start my truck.
So my day has been pretty interesting to say the least.
I've still got 1100 mi to make delivery. Doesnt look like I'm going to be picking up in Londonderry by noon on Monday. I'm not beyond doing the outlaw thing,. but my limit is typically 700 - 800-ish miles,.. or roughly 14 - 15 hrs tops,.. and then only if I got to sleep in before I do it.
Hopefully they can push my pickup off till Tuesday,.. else I'll just cancel it. Sucks,.. but the whole beauty of being an O/O is that I dont have to run any harder then I want to.

$750?!?
I got one in Fla and it was only $100.
I'm only 26k on my rear so I can close the spread and run tandem.
I've never been hassled by Ct over that,.. but then I think in the last 3 years I've only been in the Ct weigh station twice. They are typically closed when ever I'm passing through. I never got hassled in Fla either until recently. I guess states are pushing officers to nail truckers on anything they can in order to get more money. Man I miss the old days. DOT officer would ask me for my logbook and I'd tell him I was sorry,.. I hadnt updated it since the night before. He'd say Well get that thing updated. Drive safe, and then let me on my way.
$750?!?
I think I would have to contest that. At least file a grievance.
