I would advise against that.
It's always better to back toward the side you can see.
Blindside is risky with a sleeper, unlike us daycab drivers that have the back window we can use.![]()
What would you do?

^^^^^ true true true. I take mine for granted anymore, I guess. Haven't driven a condo in a while.

It aint gonna.
Yes.
No.
enough. JOCKEY! You got a minute? They are happy to help.
I would have done that a little bit more.. aggressively but there is simply no room there on the blind side at the fence wall and yellow post. The blue and white tractor failed to unhook from his trailer and is a contributing problem.
You should see some of the older distributions built during the 20's era with inside docks and a huge massive wall not much more in length of your entire rig from dock to wall.
Sometimes changing docks to another one is the better solution but Recievers are not always happy to do so. This dock or that dock or some other dock, sheesh. But noooo must be THAT dock.

and one more thing......the guys that work there see this almost every day, they know there's a problem. And if you simply tell them you can't get it in, you won't be the first, and may not be the first that day.........they've seen it before and they know how to deal with it. Don't make someone else's problem yours..........

We have a place we get to sometimes, tight docks with limited and changing space in front. I had a guy offer to unhook, and while I could have done it without that, I did appreciate the gesture.
Bad place that gets at least honorable mention every time I go there and it's busy. The other usual cold storage place we use is a pain that I no longer complain about very much thanks to that one in WI, actually both that we used in WI.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I still think that spot was doable. The perfect 90 with tandems all the way forward. If that was a no go a loooonng 45 usually works. He room to pull forward on that 45 he was trying you turn it slow, let the truck back in a bit longer than a normal 45 and come about. It's gotta be a perfect dock but it's doable.

Also, have you forgotten "the swing?" Poke that tail end in there with the tandems forward, you have to have room on the blind side to clear the trailer sitting there.
What about tandems full back, cut it in close, crank the jacknife hard, wriggle up straight?Audiomaker and Diggler Thank this. -
Perhaps you guys have been there, it was a paper warehouse around the Tampa FL area. You also had to do a 90 onto the scale before and after loading. What are these places thinking making trucks do this stuff. Total nightmare place.Starboyjim Thanks this. -
That might make a good post, Diggler, what are some of the crazy things you've been asked to do? A hard dock layout is just the tip of the iceberg.
Diggler Thanks this. -
Here is another video The details is on the webpage. How would deal with this? Honestly this is a good example of why you don't tailgate, EVER!
Audiomaker, G13Tomcat and tinytim Thank this.
