Yeah! Even as far behind as he was, he barely got through unscathed!

good one, @Exrayman4000 . . . . glad to see you back around; i've learned a lot from you. Been trucking CDL legal since '04 and had a trash route in late 70's then a step-van in 80's for the phone company. Always enjoy your wit and wisdom. (Your avatars are always about eyes stuff......I'm sure there's a story there, that I don't know. )

    God Bless.

Who will guard the guards themselves. . . . excellent.

That phrase is something I really believe in. This thread nor the website is not the proper venue to discuss why. Maybe in a PM at some point. I am retired and one thing I want to always do is help new drivers learn! That is why I share things like the 2 videos.

Lots of patience. Had one like this not to long ago, was able to get trailer into the hole but I was jackknifed, so I dropped my landing gear, pulled my fifth wheel and wiggled the truck till it was straight without moving the trailer (I had a -little- more space in front of the truck but there wasn't enough space between docks for a person to walk so it was the only way I could get it in).

Yeah, good example. The driver with the dash cam? He probably could have stopped or at least slowed down a whole lot more. It looks like he pulled speed limit right thru there.

In my opinion it is a good example not because of the trucker recording but just the fact something like this can happen at anytime and the more space you have the more time you have to slowdown. Actually the trucker recording was bobtail and it looks like he had plenty of space to stop. He may have not been paying close enough attention to his driving. Also don't forget sometimes video can distort the space some like we are all used to seeing in our car right side mirror.
