I was told to park my volvo midroof N11 I think it was, a nice tidy little 370 engine cummins I think maybe on a 13 anyhow... that was a great truck for hauling steel carefully when they get this big and scary. This packrat gets my keys and vanishes for three days. Dispatch called me on the 4th come get it. Packrat had already find a taxi took off.

It was half a day later before that truck was cleaned properly and disinfected.

Then it was FINALLY time to go. The first 10 miles she exhibited electrical drain. Then other subtle problems cascading on. I went into a outside truck dealership to have a look. Got into the QC system, discoverd it had been to Jersey then to Carolina then back in three days.

Packrat hurt that truck, it's supposed to be my baby. It was never really the same the rest of the time I had it.

Moral of the story. Your assigned truck, no one else gets to touch it without your sayso. Dealer pulled ECM data told me that engine was abused a little bit. Repairs came to 4 figures. Took some yelling from the shop boss. Blaming me for abuse. Oh no... it's packrat. Aw stupid little boy always blaming someone else he says...

Makes me wanna stop by that state and slug him. It's been 30 years plus and I still wanna slug him... sheesh.

Yeah, I'm a little envious. I've been slip seating so much... Local delivery usually does. I have one truck I get a lot, I particularly loved. Smooth shifting, the stick went right where ya wanted it every time, never really needed force or much grinding. It just died yesterday. My supervisor insists it's my fault. Doesn't matter that it's half a million miles, I must've done something wrong.
Regardless, an assigned truck sounds like a little chunk of heaven
