    ZVar,

Whoa, I never act like a 5 year old. Also, I didn't leave in a huff. The only person yelling on the phone when I called them was the broker.

I never said I called before leaving, but I did call as I was leaving. I wasn't really interested in re-negotiating other than getting loaded in a decent amount of time, that wasn't going to happen.

You're right, I did leave, but I was right to do so because the broker was not offering more money and couldn't get me in to get loaded. Also, I looked at the rate con again and the shipper closes at 7 pm so I would probably not have been loaded tonight anyway.

I think I played this one right, and I am willing to deal with the consequences. There is no need to call someone a 5 year old over it. You don't know me or how I run my business.

Bakerman and Socal Xpress Thank this.

Sorry, my dispatcher called before I left, I called after leaving when the broker said they wanted to talk to me directly.

Me: hey, I've got a lot more time than originally intended on this load, I'm going to be losing money waiting to get loaded.
Him: You agreed to the rate, so you're responsible for the load.
Me: are you willing to offer any detention, I can prove what time I got here, I can show you pictures of all the trucks ahead of me and that I might not get loaded.
Him: I don't give a rat's ### how long it takes, blah blah blah. There is no detention money, tough $h!t.
Me: Ok, your product will desintegrate from rust before I pick it up, you aren't the only game in town, CLICK.

I wouldn't have even waisted my time with a $400 dollar load... You should know that with any load there is the possibility of being tied up on it all day, why risk it for $400? How many miles would the load have been? How many DH to the 1200 load?

Let's see, yep there was this bit...
So, were you lying then, or are you lying now? Since you are unprofessional in leaving a load you agreed to, and you can not even keep your lies straight, why should we believe much of anything you say?

Simple fact you rolled the dice and you left when they didn't come up in your favor.

Well a couple of things stand out here you already state that "on a good day there is a 2 hour wait " so why not call up before you organize a load to find out how long you'll have to wait? The other thing is by the time you reorganize another load it'll probably take you 6 more hours anyway!

it seems that the op knew the shipper loaded by first come first serve and not by appt. How does the shipper/ receiver be better organized? They cant control if everyone shows up at once

Op looks like a hopper in your avatar, so if it is, you know that waits can be long at times.
Now if it is a hopper I understand, I bounce someplaces to pay fuel, then get me to better loads.
What type of wagon are you pulling. May help explain the 400.00 to others.
I would have just pulled, and learned from my mistake.
Dropped load once for this reason, but learned after that what and what not to do.

You seem like your very familiar with the shipper. 20 to 30 trucks waiting imo doesn't even sound truthful.Where in the world was this load at.Really sounds more plausible you booked the load and didn't really want to do it. You obviously were familiar with shipper should have negotiated better or just left it alone
