It's part of the new hours of service regulations. Basically if you sit in one spot for 34hrs you can restart the count on your 70hrs at zero. You have to not drive or do anything on the on-duty not driving line to qualify for the 34hr restart.:biggrin_25524:

Okay logsrus would be better at this than me, but here goes. You can drive 11 hrs a day and be on-duty for 14. You may be thinking there aren't 25 hrs in a day, and you would be correct. The times run together your allowed a maximum of 14 hours on duty a day, but only 11 of those hours can be driving.

Example: You get loaded in the morning, 4hrs on-duty not driving. Then you start driving to your destination. in 10hrs you'll have to stop and take a 10 hr break before you can continue driving. See you are under the 11 hours of driving time, but right at the limit for the 14 hours on-duty rule. (Totals for the day: 4hrs on-duty not driving/10hrs on-duty driving)

Now the other way around: You drive 5hrs stop to fuel. 5hrs driving and 1/2 hour on-duty not driving for the fuel. (this time will vary). Then you drive another 6hrs and shut down. 6hrs driving. You'll have to take a 10hr break before continuing your run. Your not over on the 14hr rule, but you have hit the limit on your 11hr driving rule. (Totals for the day: 1/2hr on-duty not driving/11hrs on-duty driving)

I really hope I am not confusing you.:biggrin_2557:
