What's better? Mileage, or percent? The company I'm with pays .30 a mile. The company I'm looking at pays 24% starting. I only average 1800-2300 miles a week with the place I'm at now.
What's better?

At that CPM rate, I'm pretty sure the only answer you could really get is that percentage is LIKELY better. I would suggest taking percentage from what I've heard. The miles you're getting now aren't terrible, but you can do better, right?
-
24% of what? Will you get a copy of the bill? You can do better than 30 cpm. Some places start at 41 cpm for new graduates.
-
For teams? I've looked at a lot of companies, and haven't seen anyone advertise CPM rates that high..
-
If the company runs for decent rates, you will likely be able to do better on percentage than mileage.
-
you have to be careful if you run percent, are you making 24% of the truck and trl. or just the truck. are you being paid 24% of the gross or what the employer tells you is 24%. and dont forget deadhead is free work, you will be losing money on something you cant control. that being said a lot of drivers are being paid by percent and quite happy being paid that way. lots of luck
-
If the driver is paid percentage and with good rates, he can usually do better on percentage than mileage, even if the deadhead is unpaid.
-
TMC offers percentage or CPM, and something like 95% of their drivers choose percentage. Something to factor into that percentage, it includes the drivers that are forced to choose CPM rates due to being on a dedicated run.

Depends I would go cpm depending on what they say for percentage
