Zipper failures are easy to catch. Feel the sidewalls for bulging. There is usually a classic spot at which it will start to unzip, then the entire tread will come off as one layer and look to hit a car behind or with you. Usually with a BOOOM.

Regarding others, a failed steer with a factory defect in the steel walls will shake you pretty good. If the right mirrior is not also shaking, then focus on the left side up and down.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but it's right at the top of the search engines so I thought it best to post here.

Solved: After beating my head against the sleeper for about a month straight and replacing my carrier bearing, I finally scienced the issue and solved my (and maybe your) vibration problem.

I downloaded a vibration meter for my phone and found the vibration to be right around 10Hz. Googling "10Hz truck vibration", I came across this article:

    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pts.955

So, because I was out of ideas, I aired my tires down to 105psi...

    Vibration is gone.

    Hope this helps someone else.
