Well, as the topic states I am going to ask what has changed. I have been off the road for almost four years now and I am getting back into driving after grabbing my GED and getting an associates degree.

There use to be thing in some of the parking areas that you could hook up to and get tv and such. Do they still exist?

CB Radios, are they a thing of the past now or do people still use them?

Running buddies (or whatever you want to call it) can you still get together with other drivers and run together if going the same way or has cell phones killed that too?

I was looking at the Petro website and seen TA in the credit app, did they merge?

That is all for now, I am sure more will arise as I do further research.

    Welcome IT!

Why ain't you using that degree?

A few things changed. Yeah, Petro and TA merged but still maintain the individual name brands. Pilot bought out Flying J and in the process sold alot of their junk stores to Loves.

Every year gets worse as traffic increases, regulations tighten and the in crowd is more and more, me me me.

There's still a bunch of good drivers out there.

With the high cost of fuel and battling for freight, the dollar gets tighter.

The CB is still there and about the same it was 4 years ago. Cell phones went hands free only and no texting.

HOS has changed a little. You'll have to freshen up on that.

    It's basically the same.

    Get to reading! :)

Office job is not for me and it is a worse cutthroat industry than the trucking world. :biggrin_2556:
