If they are willing to help you get your CDL go for it. I have a feeling you'll be working the docks and getting some part time CDL training. Just see what they have to offer. You don't want to sign some ridiculous contract or work 80 hours a week for $200.
what's going on with fedex freight?

I forgot all about this thread. I been busy at ne comany Superior Carriers. Did more work In last 4 weeks than last 6 months at fedex freight. Its not so much fedex freight as a company but the terminal in creedmoor nc..rdu. The terminal manager is a butt kisser n sure licker. He was a driver but onfe got into management he got bird brians. No caee about his drigers just wanting to get promoted higher up. I talked to guys that stayed and they stil having 2-3 sitting home each night. I know I made the right choice leaving fedex and coming to superior Carrier. Its like night and day. Did traini ng, rode with guy n been on own for last 2 weeks. Had 4 days off and ready to roll in the mornin. Heading to Florida from Nc.

I hope you understand that you look like everyone else that quit and is now hyping your current carrier after what appears like two weeks in your case.
I understand it can be tough at the start but in no way shape or form is that company on par with FXF. You also have to take internet posts with a grain of salt. When you rip a company like that in the way you did without the ability to form a complete sentence it just doesn't carry weight.
I'll almost guarantee you will be telling us all the whoa's of your current employer within the next 6 months.. -
I unlike others stay at a job. After last 2 years of not working u come to a point where unemployment is running out and a man needs to move on to take care of his family. If you would have read my post than you undersrand I have nothing a f2f bad to say towards fedex freight s a company but the way rdu terminal was and currently is ran, that is where problems are. When I was able to travel and help out at other terminals it was so differebt. Managers cqre for their drivers and not just about making themselves look good to get promote. That was what I been trying to ge at. All ltls might be same but I never worked at any other ltl company. I post my experiances to let others undersrand whats going on. No company is perfect ever. Not to mention there are good and bad days or weeks at times.
Another thing I was not just starting out with FedEx freight. I was there 8.5 years. I ran city and road. But when they bought out Wilkens motor freight all hell broke loose. They had to many drivers and not enough work. Drivers had to go. Slowly the numbers are falling into place as each one of us leaves. Can.only hold on for so long till you wake up and realize things not getting better. I was stupid for hanging on so long.ACH1130 and CenutryClass Thank this. -

I agree with condo cruiser, you might have to sign a contract, giving them a year or so to pay for the schooling. My last ltl carrier voided it since I had a CDL already with endorsements. After I left there I turned down a job from ABF because I didn't want a two year contract or owe 3000 if I quit. My company now I've been here over a year. I have to they have the decency to layoff if work slows down. Your either on a soft layoff where you might work but maybe 1-2 days and still eligible to collect or they layoff completely. A lot of carriers won't do that and will make you starve then quit so they don't owe you anything.
we shut down if roads are bad. Or if its a general area that's bad they shut down those lanes. Makes it safer but then as a bottom guy if hurts me as the others will take others. Although I heard we had guys refusing to stay over on our 500+ turns though mountains making it back during that Nemo snow storm where we got over 2 feet of snow. Other than that we can call to have our cards taken off the board if something bad is up -
Oh is mr conway mad? They were trying to get me to join them...lol. told manager their in Raleigh if I was to join conway I want contract that I work. Not cgoing to extra mqn like i was at fedex freight. But what turned me off big time was when I told manager that needed to give two weeks notice to fedex. He got mad saying if you work here and we find out u going to different ltl you will be terminated. Shows how much they care. Lol.

I am sorry man.. -

Apologies accepted. Trust me I didn't want to change jobs. My goal was to retire from fedex. But things happen and we move on. I am enjoying superior carriers. Will be better when I get used to the surges. I talked with few of th e guys at fedex and they still sitting at home. I kni w I made right choice.
jakebrake12 Thanks this.
