What's going on with platform freight right now?

    Hey what's going on with platform frieght right now??? It's not paying real well, I've talked to some buddies at different shippers and ports who tell me that the companies are holding on to frieght and not shipping right now, I try and call on 2.05 per mile loads and there booked already, and that's step deck loads, heavy tarped cheap loads. Who is out here taking these cheap loads? And when will it pick up past 3 bucks a mile again?

    Well it seems everybody now has a flat/step deck division. There's more people than ever pulling decks . Up here in Canada it now seems all the New Canadians have switched to deck freight! Two New Canadians in every truck and a flat an there goes the rates and availability.

    Well I was told that it comes in spurts(that's what she said) couldn't resist lol, so I'm hoping it picks back up... Just seeing if anyone had any ideas as to why the frieght wasn't doing good..
