No, this is not right. Drivers are assigned points for violations that the driver could have prevented, Along with the carrier.

The visions stay with a carrier for 24 months, and with a driver for 36. The points follow a driver from job to job. This is not something a company can choose to do or opt out of. If you get a preventable violation on a roadside inspection, you are getting points.

Have you had a ticket or a warning that was written up as an Inspection?

I wonder when this CSA thing will get but to bed. Drivers are not assigned points like you think. Drivers carry a driver history. The below is a paste from this FMCSA CSA website and is in the FAQs. It is question 9 of the drivers topic on the far left. I know if fly's in the face of some carrier CSA training but it is the truth.

Why is there no driver rating? Why aren't drivers more accountable? Answer
While the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration does not use the Safety Measurement System (SMS) or any other system to assign formal safety ratings to individual drivers, the agency recognizes that holding drivers accountable for safe driving behavior is an important part of the safety compliance and enforcement process. Safety Investigators (SIs) always systematically investigate drivers with egregious violations when investigating a motor carrier. Additionally, SIs use the Driver SMS, an internal safety assessment tool, to review drivers with strong patterns of noncompliance. Any violations that are not corrected may result in a Notice of Violation or Notice of Claim for the driver.

I am not sure if that link posted correct so here is that link

I received a written warning yesterday, for a car pool violation. It was a motorcycle officer. He did not inspect my truck or anything. Will this show on my CSA score?

What if the driver gets an inspection due to a moving violation, but the moving violation is eventually reduced in court to a non-moving violation. Are CSA points still assigned to the company?

Only if the violation is written up on the DOT inspection report.
