Threads like this scare me. Going to school next month and then on the road. I don't want to be away from my family (2 young kids) for weeks on end.
Whats the longest you stayed out on the road without a break ?

Just too OCD about negative possibilities. -
No kidding, Elizabeth/Newark is a special kind of suck.
Just ran around that area about 2 weeks back picking up class 3 hazmat at 3 different shippers snaked in between residential suburbs....never understood why they build housing backed up to chemical plants in the northeast.
Passed directly in front of 4 schools & sports fields that were in use on roads & turns never meant for sleeper 53's on way to/from pickups...umm safety?
Love the industrial complexes that group S&R's far away from the public with well lit wide roads, permitting parking up & down both sides, as well as NOT ALLOWING BUILDING PERMITS FOR RESIDENTIAL WITHIN A MILE RADIUS SO THE IDIOTS THAT BUY THEM WONT HAVE A CHANCE TO START COMPLAINING ABOUT TRUCK TRAFFIC/NOISE/REEFERS ECT; they make me feel nice & cozy. -
11 days as a solo. Never got used to that otr lifestyle. Now I'm local and wouldn't have it any other way. Missed out on so much during those 6 months I was otr.
