Yep total BS!! I have had a Window machine run 6 or 7 years+ with only security updates and a the occasional browser change/update....and nothing ever stopped working.

    You don't "own" many OS's now.....heck most.

Win 10 Pro if you simply must have new...

I'm not speaking about desktop operating machines. Yes, I still have a windows 7 machine but never use it as I prefer MacBook Pros now.

But the world of smartphones (android and iOS) and related apps is much different than the desktop world.

    spyder7723 and Mattflat362 Thank this.

I wish they would quit updating the software on these things. Works great then it forces an update and bam something that i use all the time sucks. How do I turn off that draw a picture screen when I turn my phone sideways on the iMessage.

    Wow.
Nothing electronic would exist if invention, innovation, & incremental improvement were not actively persued.

    How do they best improve?
Not with a couple regulated beta test mules; rather by getting information from end users actually using/encountering missing features, bugs, viruses, etc. & reporting them automatically, or by enough people pissed enough to write free reviews.

It's completely free testing & ideas that they don't have to strategize or test as rigorously as in the pre connectivity era.

If you think your private life activities mean jack squat to anyone at Google/Apple/Microsoft beyond your value in software testing/evaluation & advertisement data mining, you should reevaluate your importance on a world scale.

Take a breath & come back to Earth, it's not the end of the world & you aren't as smart as you believe yourselves to be...otherwise you wouldn't use other people's inventions; just write code yourselves.
