What's with all these training schools training with auto transmissions?

    These types of school's objective is to get them out the door and into a company orientation - then their "job is done", and will get paid. (one way or another)

    Having to "train" students to shift properly costs time and money, simple as that.

    Not all the training is like this ... but the mills are.

    Well, my school can't even qualify for the loan if I am not working for 30 days at a company that has tuition re-imbursement. So if they try to come after me, I'll tell them 'get in line!'

    Teaching students to drive with an auto shift is pure stupidity. Any school doing that should be put out of buisness. Autos are not nearly as prevalent as some would have you believe and contrary to what some may think, the manual is not going away any time soon. Try running a shotgun tank with a partial load and an autoshift. It don't work real well.
