Well, you know what they say, "Don't whiz on the electric fence." :biggrin_2554:

I got enough of the barbed wire when I was a kid. Never complain that you're bored or that it's raining, because there's always fence to be fixed. It's a hateful job, especially in water or bush, but it's way easier than razor wire.

My oldest brother had a business fencing oilfield leases around southern Alberta. When I was about 13-15 I was working for him and 2-3 of us could completely fence three leases per day: ~400' x 400' (IIRC), three wood posts at each corner, steel t-bar posts between and three strands of barbed wire. For the corner posts he had a post-pounder, but all the t-bar posts were pounded in by hand with a heavy pipe. We first started stringing wire by just putting a t-bar post through a roll of barbed wire and sitting on the tailgate holding it while my oldest brother dove across the lone prairie. That proved to occasionally be hazardous... especially when there was a snag in the roll. :biggrin_2554: After that we would put a couple of stakes in the corner pockets and lay the t-bar across the bed. That too could be hazardous... especially at about 30 mph. :biggrin_2554:

I'm actually surprised we never ended up with any fingerless gloves. :biggrin_2554:

A Chicago favorite is to pound nails through a board and mount that on top of the wall with the nails sticking up! When they rust, they will get puncture wounds and tetanus!

I only wear gloves when riding the harley otherwise I don't but it also depends on the load once I was hauling Kidney bean seeds and I guess the chemicals they put on them are very poisonous so I wore gloves then but as for fingerless gloves I don't really see a point.
