you can't see. the tarps cover it up.

and the straps are probably nothing more then to keep the tarps from flapping. but they could be securement also.

One thing I've learned from this forum. When you become a trucker. You better be prepared to be a movie star. Your going be in movies. Your going to have your portrait taken often.....lol.....Just be sure you pick out the right background.

So you can't even throw some belts around them to take up the slack in the tarps?

Right answer, a very big claim, they won't go into a aircraft untill pulled down and inspected. Claim will be some what larger than cooking a load of onions.

When you haul a load it is best to follow the shippers rules, the DOD has clear instructions on hauling engines. Those engines are only a few million dollars each.

The engine I hauled was for general electric out of cincinatti. They wouldn't even let you secure your tarps to the trailer. They were to be wrapped around the engine and and you would secure your bungi straps to one side of the tarp then under the engine to the other side. Thats how anal they were about not interfering with the shock absorbers on the rack.

The engines have to be chained by the cradles under the tarps.
BUT NEVER PUT STRAPS OVER THE ENGIINES! you crush the oil and control lines, somebody has some explain to do!
BTW they are a pain in the butt to tarp and make look good going down the road
