I think a lot of the problems people are having with the def, and regen problems is because they/ some are not cleaning the filters and doing the so called required maintenance when needed. Just my thoughts. I will duck if u shoot.

When I waz spinning wrenches I hated the mack e-9.....but man was that truck ballsy...hit the throttle stopped and idleing and the whole cab and frame would twist so bad you would think it waz gonna throw u ouuta the window...lol..the lazt e9 I worked on was a pink mack that was a chicks truck headex to maine..logging....but overall I like cats..followed by cummings..detroit..and finally the mack...neverworked on a maxxforce but heard they make awesome boat anchors...lo j/k

The engine I liked the most was the 60 series Detroit (the pre EGR one). You couldn't kill it. When it tore up, you could use simple hand tools to fix it and the parts weren't outrageous. After that, I would have to go with the ISX Cummins. Great pulling engine, easy to fix, good mpg, and it shakes when it idles. Paccar and CAT are at the bottom of my list. The Paccar I have now in my T660 is gutless. Wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a cat's #####. And, our cat engines stayed tore up, got horrible fuel mileage, and it seemed like all of them would pull great until you got to the top end and they would fall on their face.
