Wheel seal question

    The green coating on the CR/SKF seal is a sealant.

    i never use them, usually when a seal leaks or blows u have a bearing issue or low oil or something else that needs to be taken care of, also its a pain in the ### having to clean the old silicone out after, if everything is installed right and ur axle spindle is good the seal should last, better to find out the real problem

    Well guys I have done my own, plus ran a shop for several years and we did them all that way. I have never had any trouble doing them that way, and the little film I put on them sure is no trouble to take off. It may be wrong, but since I rarely have to change one, I will just keep on keeping on.

    For those asking, the instructions to use silicone on the box is right next to the bearing torque procedure.
