Wheel stud extenders?

    Correct. It's just a cover. It fits right over the existing wheel and lugs. No mods are necessary in most cases. It comes with plastic chrome lugs that you tighten onto 5 of the existing studs, using the remaining thread that sticks out past the lug nut.

    be careful of those... DOT if they get sticky can ask you if you remove it daily during your PTI to check for rust and tightness of the nuts..

    So if the nuts reached further down through the cover holes you wouldn't need longer studs?

    I knew a driver that had the plastic caps and DOT asked him if he removed them each day to check the tightness of the lugs and rust.... although I don't know many drivers that carry a wrench for them....

    Now I know to keep that wrench in the truck, just for that reason lol

    Yes there are really only two options: longer wheel studs, or shorter nuts that can grab on better. I've even tried filing the plastic down a bit on one of the nuts, hoping that would get the threads to catch. But it didn't

    Been searching for a while and came across this option. Not being a techy in the world of metrics and measurements though, I'm not sure if these would work.

    Does anyone happen to know: is "1/2 inch Male NPT" the same size as the "M22 x 1.5 thread pitch" I need?

    Likely not going to work. NPT threads are not straight like a bolt/stud. The threaded body itself is tapered for an interference fit. Going off my memory I believe 1/2" NPT threads are also coarser than the metric wheel stud threads.

    Got another idea. Hold it on with supermagnets. Then if you're asked about inspections you can just pry them off.

    Or center drill and tap the studs.
