My permit book and new atlas say no restriction, my old atlas (2018) ways 43 foot to center of rear axle. Half the stuff from Google says no restriction, half says some gobbledygook about wheel base ranges.

So when did Michigan change or did they not change at all?

I cant remember when(or if) but, ive been to Michigan 2x the past 6 months and both times I didnt need to order a permit for my length...because im like 55ft from KP to center of rear axle.....I always avoided Michigan/Ohio because of this......

    Yep, I heard you call!

MCL257.719 was changed in 2018, the KP wb requirement was removed then.

I just recently went to Local driving in Michigan. I heard it was changed, and found it hard to believe. Checked it out. Sure enough. I just dragged a load across the city with tandems all the way back. 29 years ago I worked for a company that had all their local 53’ trailers all the way back and welded in place. Never had a problem.

Normal turns wouldn't be a problem. It's the Michigan Left Turns that would get interesting.
