I don’t know what’s best, selling it @ 375k with 125 k warranty left. Or @ 500k, out of warranty. I think 375k is about the highest mileage, and still get good money for it. At 500 k, you have a lot of competition. And it’s out of warranty. I’d say it depends on what kind of deal can be made. Right now a lot of Truck orders have been cancelled. Lots are filling up with inventory. Around Christmas, a very good deal may be available. Maybe find the right Dealer who has Customers looking for a Truck like yours, giving you more for your Trade. Best thing to do is start talking to Dealers now, so when that great deal arises, you’ll be able to recognize it.Running a Husband/ wife Team, last thing you need is repairs, or an Old Truck. Might be best to trade up as soon as financially possible, in the long run, and with the new depreciation rules short run also. It’s a win win. Good Luck, enjoy Shopping, make it a pleasurable choice, instead of a painfull necessity.
When is it time to trade?

You never know what prices will do. In 01, a friend of mine bought a repoed 00 Classic, loaded up w/ 70 k for $59k. Essentially 60% of original price. Best part, already broken in, good mpg right off the bat.

Well my 12.7 gets around 5.4, Usually heavy, running hills 65-70, or best I can going up, I use every truck I can. Get s good run, avoid jake when possible, I idle it endlessly, but I just ran back, with 26k. 900 miles and idled it at least 50% and stayed hammered down about halfway, got 5.85. Or as Icall it 6. Lol close enough. This Truck has never done well. 5.5 since new. I’ve squeezed 6.2 in summer and 5.8 in winter. I’m sure if I zooped it up, it would do better. My last one was a pre low nox, it did a little better. It was capable 7.8 running light, and no hills. Using pedal instead of cruise. I could always beat the cruise. But that gets Old, and my times worth something. So I don’t worry much about it. Till fuel goes up, anyway.
