20% gasoline in diesel is OK for modern (and older) engines. If you want to be sure add 1% 2 stroke oil. Power will be lower because of higher octane number of gasoline. Real winter diesel is of course better option but sometimes you have no choice, for example in Sibirien or in Turkish or Iranian mountains where fuel quality is very low.
-22F here, no problems, can drive in my T-shirt. Maybe you should buy a Volvo...

At $10 a bottle when bought by the case I'll stick with a safer product than running gas in my diesel.
Mastertech, Big Don, The Challenger and 2 others Thank this. -
Howes is cheaper by the case too. Nappa or Bomgarrs will discount if you buy it buy the case. We always have a case on hand.
-
I buy from the bulk oil supplier. Cheapest I've found.

The problem with those is you have to blend it before the fuel gets too cold or it will not help anything.
-
I don't buy any anti gel,......I buy blended fuel from the same vendor every day and have never had problems with gelling up,...
When I was hauling cars and couldn't always get good fuel I put power service in,..Just in case,... -
Guys running blended fuel around here are getting gelled up. With temps almost -20 overnight, blended can't do it on it's own. I don't think wind chill affects inanimate objects but for the next day or so, our wind chill is expected to reach -40.
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Exactly gears. Even the blended is gelling. We had a propane truck get gelled up out here on monday. Had to call service to get him thawed out. Most of the trucks that run for hubbys broker are stuck where they are, hubby is one of the few still running around. And of course, the other guys told him he shouldn't be. LOL
Hey gears, woke up to a head wave today. Its 15* on my thermometer. LOLGears Thanks this. -
Kwik Trip sells the only blended fuel I trust,...Used it for 12 years when I peddled booze and now with my new job,......
If I would have to buy fuel somewhere else I always add additive,... -
Enjoy the heat wave, temps are supposed to drop all day. I think our afternoon "high" is supposed to be around 0.
I tried getting my reefer going yesterday afternoon. At -12, no luck. I'm hoping Sunday I can get everything running as it's supposed to be just over 20 degrees. Fingers and toes crossed that it happens.
