I'd give you a ticket just for driving a pink truck.

Don't adjust your mirrors to reflect their spotlights back into their eyes as they approach -- they don't seem to find it amusing.

Whenever I'm pulled over in the Beehive State.....I always mention that I know Big Don....

Now why is it they always threaten to put me in "time out" after I say that?....

OMG ... I would have loved to see that. Thank God you didn't tell him you had a multiple personality disorder and that you were thinking of killing yourself ... the cop would probably have thought he had a hostage situation on his hands:biggrin_25514:

You know what folks....Everybodys advice is to be polite and such......So it should..But it BACKFIRED on me..(Just my luck as usual)

I was driving down 25th avenue in Maywood,Il back in 2008 minding my own business in my semi.....I wasnt speeding, nothing wrong..

Next thing you know..An unmarked city cop puts the lights on behind me.......(There is NO shoulder to pull over on, So I put on my 4-ways and stopped..(Yes,I just loaded up and was kinda in a hurry to get home..I was Tired)

He took about 5 SOLID minutes for him to get out of his cruiser and walk up to me..........I was very polite when he approached the truck.......but the kicker was.. HE WAS SUPER POLITE TOO....

So im thinking......OK, This should be a no-brainer,I did nothing wrong..

He smiled at me and said to me................ "Im concerned about your weight"......i said OK??? Im under 80,000 lbs...

he said politely........"Hmmm"...As he sounded interested..... "Let me get your drivers license..And follow me ..We are going down to the Police dept to Check your weights.....

Im thinking...."COME ON" For christs sakes.......So, I follow him 4 blocks down to the station...He pulls out the Portables.....It takes us over 30 minutes to weigh EVERY axle AND measure length..

Now folks...Keep in mind..I have been as polite as a man could be throughout this whole event..But..SO WAS HE!!!!

Moral of the story......It cost me over 2 Hours of my time...AND it put a Huge smile on this cops face to write me a $1,326.00 Ticket (That had to be paid before i left) for overweight and overlength......

SO..........If a township is looking for revenue..........Politeness did NOT work in my favor.....

OPUS 7 and John Miles Thank this.

Last summer I got pulled over on the 15 S/B by one of the Moapa Tribal Cops...Seems my shade "violated" the Regs so he came to the right door and knocked...He told me to unlock the door....I told him to get on the step....He repeated his "command" and I repeated mine...This back and forth went on for a few more times...Then I relented and unlocked the door....Up steps this "Sawed-off" little punk-A...I about fell out of my seat laughing....

Note to DOT and you City LEO's....If you guys want us to take you seriously....Don't send out a "boy" to do a "Man's Job".... :biggrin_2559:

No, you obviously missed the moral of the story. The moral of the story was, you were overweight and overlength. Period. So just why do you think being polite should get you a break?

It sounds like both you and the cop, acted professionally, which is exactly how each of you SHOULD have acted.

Some people just cannot admit to being wrong, even when it is obvious.

Hitman, JAL1972, truckon and 4 others Thank this.
