It reverts back to the common sense thing, some have it and some don't, seems like the trucking industry stopped requiring it some years back.

Considering all the laws and regulations we have now from past driver actions did the industry ever require it?Lepton1 Thanks this.

I am not sure about the industry, but there was a time that you just didn't get in without it, and if one did slip by, the other drivers themselves pretty much took care of it. lol
Where I truck, they get weeded out pretty quick.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Looks like that maneuver is outdated. One car and many lanes of traffic..needs another, or two more cops in their cars to perform this, as stated by someone else. Dead right, is just as dead. Most officers I see are good drivers, but in the last 20 years I have noticed a hurray for me attitude. Speeding down the Ohio tpke in far left lane steering with one finger on the steering wheel, no turn signals for lane changes etc. Not impressed.roshea Thanks this.

Not all states are equal either. For example, in New Mexico, there is no law that says you have to yield to emergency vehicles at all, Most people naturally do, but a truck driver tested the law with one of our fire engines (brand new) one at that and totaled it.

I think you misunderstood. I was saying that lights and sirens only request the right of way and doesn’t guarantee it. But just don’t confuse it with the move over law.Lepton1, stillwurkin and roshea Thank this.
