Looks like you were right, there is a new generation of driver out there who drive their trucks the way they drive their cars....

Eh I stick to the right lane as much as I can and I often laugh about the slower traffic keep right signs, might as well get rid of them. In this scenario it seems like you did fine though. Not like you were intentionally riding left for miles on end, you did your thing and moved over when it was safe.

I was on I65 in Indiana last week and there were two truckers infront of me. On the CB - they got into a little spat and the guy infront of me HARD Breaked... and mind you.. I65 is fricking terrible... I had two choices, either a) go to the left and pass him and get back into the middle lane or b) go to the right and destroy cars and potentially kill someone so I go to my left and pass this trucker up and get back into the correct lane. ON the cb, a trucker says "Hey container hauler, there's a bear coming your way north bound and he's coming for ya...", i say to myself.... so be it. About a minute later, the bear crosses the median and lights up his sirens.. stops me and says, you know why i pulled you over? I said .. yeah... you saw everything that happened, either I get into a restricted lane or I kill a whole family. He says.. yep.. give me your paperwork, level 3 inspection and i'm writing ya up for a lane restriction ticket.

Wow okay... that's cool, i asked him - you rather i kill a whole family? He says... "In Indiana, ITS A RESTRICTED LANE. Let's leave it at that and I'm known around these parts. I stop alot of people for lane restriction". Ha.. no problem.. thanks for the ticket SERGEANT... I'll gladly fight this. ####### wrote me a ticket along with a violation on a level 3 inspection for lane restriction. Thank goodness for the DRIVERS LEGAL PLAN.. already got a court date set for this.

Thank you trucker that hard breaked infront of me... #######.

Might want to reevaluate your "safe following distance". Just saying, but I know what you mean and have been there before.

I just turn off the cb when I'm on the interstate, unless I'm covering a night run. Or I go over to the hadji chanel they have more interesting things to say even if you can't understand them. Lol

Had good distance but with a '20 foot container & chassis that will fly off your back as soon as you break... i took my chances.

you are going to go to court and they are going to say that if you had change lanes to avoid a rear end accident then you were too close to the truck in front of you. Im not trying to say you were too close or not, but that's what they will say. if you have a dash cam that shows you had enough distance in front of you that will help. if not good luck, IN. is not known for their understanding attitude for truck drivers.

You are totally right when it comes to Indiana. It is worth a try, I called the court house and spoke to them. They said there's a very good chance it will be dismissed or amended to a non-moving violation which I will take, no questions asked. Will have my attorney file it with DataQ so I can get it amended to a 3 point violation for both myself and my company's CSA record.
