Excellent idea, did the same thing myself when OTR. My early car haul days we had bare bones trucks without radios and I had no problem until I stopped wearing a watch and started relying on my early cell phone that got the time signal from the local tower, messed me up once or twice before I went back to a regular old watch. I accidentally corrected for the time zone when the cell phone clock had already done so as well, really messes you up.

At this point I'm only interested in going to an LTL carrier and running linehaul. Now with these fresh new CSA points, add 3 more years to my sentence at Bottomfeeder Express...

If you don't know the logs you should be asking your log dept.Part of their job is to help drivers understand the HOS and how to properly fill out logs.So if you get hit with CSA because your logs wasn't done right you'll have no-one to blame but yourself. So quit feeling sorry for yourself and do something about it.

Thats what I was taught in trucking school and at the company I spent my first 3.5 years with. I called my old teammate that still works there and asked how he did his and he repeated the same thing I said, that's how he was trained also.

Once before I die I'd like to be able to say I had a good job but it ain't looking promising. If I lose this job or it becomes a complete waste of time when they force elogs on me, I guess that's how that one went. I can always go back to prison. Working for $.40 a mile after all these years isn't very inspiring, getting a CDL hasn't worked out very well in my case. I envy you guys that have real jobs, must be nice. I probably never had a shot at a real job being a felon to begin with and was naive to even think anyone might give me a shot. Oh well...

never let your past define you. Are you a felon or a professional truck driver?

I'd like to think the latter of the two but a lot of others seemingly disagree with me. I'm more than happy to forget it, it's been 17 years but it gets thrown in my face regularly and not just professionally. I couldn't care less what people think of me, however when it continually controls what you do or how much money you can earn, that's the part that sucks. I've always interviewed well and have quite a few other skills outside this profession, but it's still never enough to some people

There you go feeling sorry for yourself again.Forget the school and forget that other place you worked at.You need to be focused on this job and learning logs.So until you ask your company for help be prepared for more CSA points. When you was in orientation didn't they show you how to log?I think 40 cpm is a good wage it's you that's making it sound like the end of the world. This is trucking which you chose to pursue, you're not going to find that perfect trucken job no matter how hard you look.Beefore trying a different job I would suggest learning logs and quit feeling sorry for yourself because in reality no-one cares.

I already answered the question about the logs, that's how I was trained to do it everywhere I've worked that actually required a logbook. $.40 cpm is not a "good" wage, it's average at best. The few drivers I still stay in touch with make me look like a welfare case so I'm thinking it's pretty much below average...

And I'm well aware nobody cares pal, one of the many reasons I have such a wonderful attitude about everything ;-)

Have a good day man and be safe...
