If you are going to dump the bags when dropping a trailer... Please for those of us that DON'T have that option... Make sure the landing gears are lowered to touching the ground! Yard goats have no problems, but trying to raise a loaded trailer enough to get under it when some one with bags dropped it without lowering the landing gears enough... GRRR!! Yes it's a pet peeve of mine!

dropping or hooking up a trailer they come in handy just be sure that you air 'em back up. if you don't your driveline won't be at the right angle and it will vibrate the transmission enough to make it grind between direct and overdrive at around 50 mph (happened to me)

congrats on new truck. its like everybody said dump air when your dropping a loaded trailer. but make sure you air back up before you hook to empty. or you will slip past the kingpin. done that before too. trust me it aint fun getting trk back past the kingpin. the company I work for they prefer you dump when dropping loaded trailer they claim its easier on landing gear. BUT MAKE SURE YOU PULL YOUR PIN BEFORE YOU DUMP AIR. sometime when I forgot it made it harder to pull my pin caz i dumped first. its a good thing (dumping air)

If your at a shpr/rec that requires you to lower the landing gear while in the dock, drop the bags before lowering the gear. That way you can air them back up and take the weight off the landing gear. Makes it easier to raise them back up.

In my local truck. I sometimes dump my airbags to raise the rear of the trailer so it matches the dock height a lil better. Nothing spilling a pallet when your dock plate is to steep.
