Yep. She should be mad at her company, not the road service guy

    It's a fair point.

"Your incompetence cost me sleep" would've come up in the conversation the next DAY after the company had been charged for my entire 10-hour break. Because I'm not paying for ####.

In my earlier post I said "you." I should've said "your company." This isn't your fault, I was just speaking in the general "you," not you specifically.

For the owner ops here in Vegas, can you post the mobile mechanics name? Just wondering who it is.

Also Nevada I think there’s a law that is on the side of the mechanics that allows them to disable truck until payment is made.

Most people can do credit cards of at least 5K. Knowing your company does not even have a card that can go through would make me jump ship fast. The situation your company put you in is the problem. If you was out in the middle of nowhere you have to pay the crazy prices. It is just the way it works or get towed.

Payment for services are due at the time of service... your company screwed the pooch here and screwed YOU and the service provider over at the same time. If you don't want to re-live this same scenario, you probably need to leave this company.

I would have sat on the side of the road getting charged $175/hour while waiting for your company to pay the mechanic. I'm prepared to spend 500% of the company's money and about 1% of my money, especially if his repair gave me heat. You're the only guy on the scene so you have the info and we just have what you wrote, so you have to do what you have to do. I'm not getting in a fight over a truck that belongs to someone else. It's like fighting over a stipper. Even if you win, you lose.

I hope you get reimbursed op !
I have over the years donated enough of my labor and parts to trucking companies to cheap to pay me back that I refuse to do charity work for them anymore.
The carrier im leased to doesent fix my truck and I don't fix theyre trailers and I still have conversations with the shop about trailers like this .....
Me : your trailer is broke .
Shop: well have you tried this ?.
    Me: nope .
Shop: well can't ya just ?
Me : nope ....where should I take it ...or send a service truck .
    Shop: wellllll oooook.

Drivers would rather just never look at the equipment and drag it down the road.. when they get caught.. the just shrug their shoulders and blame the DOT... and the company that "made them drive it". They are never to blame. The outright tantrums from some drivers when they are shut down for equipment issues is just tiresome.. they aren't asked to fix it, they are told that they cannot run the stuff down the road... tantrums.. wailing.. threats to quit etc etc etc. The general knowledge and professionalism of the majority of drivers is just gone.
