    Oh that's right, I forgot...it's commonplace for people such as yourself to do that in these forums, post little icons and such instead of words. Hooray for pictographs, I guess.

    At the yard I'm working out of right now we drop out empties on the "ready line", and the yard jockey puts them in a dock when called for. Three of the docks are slanted such that if I drop the trailer at the "right" height and the yard jockey spots it without cranking the legs down more, when he goes to pull it he WILL NOT be able to get underneath it.

    In the winter, ice would form next to the docks. If the landing gear was not firmly on the ground, the trailer would ride the plate as the tires slid across the ice. Or the yard truck didn't have enough traction to get underneath.

    Yeah, the yard jockey might be acting the jackwad, but he might also be making sure he can do his job.
