I just left Ft Worth. I was going to bobtail that peelot yesterday but figured it would've taken me forever to get there and probably wouldn't be able to find a spot. Ended up sleeping in a Walmart.

At home. Been here since Sunday night. Going out again tommorow. Got some jobs done at home and on the truck. Filed my taxes, don't owe the govt any money ( had a lot of repair claims for the truck last year). Been getting more organized with my accounting at home. Spent most of today so far on the computer and will be busy for the rest of the night fixing what I did wrong when I first started using the program I have.

Well banker's hours are over. Hauled salt to KCMO city street Dept. Then loaded at JEC, (flyash) to go to Wichita. Not enough hours to make it there, so I'm camped at Junc City

Spent my entire afternoon trying to find somebody to cover 3 local loads for 0500 delivery. They are all drop n hook, but that didn't help any when there were no drivers available. I was told to send a message to 2 drivers who were on their way back from 2 day runs; tell them to get back here tonight and take their break so they can help with them. Tell then not to be hanging out in the truckstops and piddling around. They were both going to be lucky to get within 3 hours of the office and then they would still be late making the deliveries.

One driver is waiting to be released by Occ Health, and for the past 3 days he was supposed to be available for dispatch, but Occ Health wants more info. I don't know why the dispatcher put him on the local loads knowing this, I would have put others on the loads with the possibility that if he did get cleared, then he could do them.

She wanted me to tell my battery load drivers that they could come in and do them. 1 is on vacation, 1 spent all day today helping out with her loads, and the other has battery loads tomorrow. I'm supposed to call the consignee and tell them that we need those drivers on this account and they will have to find someone else to cover them. The DBL has said over and over he doesn't want those guys being used for these dedicated account loads, but that doesn't seem to matter. She says that isn't her problem. Her job is to get the dedicated accounts covered.

After trying all afternoon to find someone, I finally had 1 driver come in who had about 3 extra hours and could do 1 load. I noticed there was another driver who didn't have a load for tomorrow, so I looked to see if she was on vacation tomorrow. Nope. I called to see if she could help out and she said she had talked to the dispatcher this morning to see if she would be needed, and was told it wouldn't be a problem, my battery guys could cover the loads. I explained the situation to her and she said she had no problem coming in to do the last 2 loads.

Now, I'm in the office by myself all afternoon tomorrow, I'm behind on all my work that should have been done today, and I'm guessing she will want to leave early. I'm just hoping to get out by 1600 tomorrow. The boss did tell me to email him the load plan for Tuesday and let him know if I didn't get everything done and he would finish it over the weekend. I've now figured out that she is there in the mornings by herself and tells her fave drivers they can have time off, but doesn't tell the boss or myself, and that way she keeps her faves happy. If I hadn't called the other driver about if she was on vacation, I wouldn't have known what was going on.

Dadburnit, all good things must come to an end, but they could have let you enjoy it for the rest of the week.

Teddy_bear my dear.... bless your heart... your job is CRAZY!! It makes me :biggrin_25526: just reading about it....
I am at a rest area in OH. After live unload this morning, got an empty Walmart trailer and rushed to shipper in IN, got a preloaded trailer and now going to DE. It's dark, has been raining but at least it is not snowing and it's not cold.

It never fails to amaze me. My GPS has a screen that keeps track of time. I sat still about 8 hours today and still managed to get 16 tickets signed!!! Felt like a Friday!

Most irritating thing was I was 4 pieces short when I left SDV. Could not get them on the trailer.

Dispatch said he'd try to get someone else. One of my friends from another company told me SDV was waiting on me. So after getting the trailer empty I went back over there. My buddy Raul said he thought a white stake bed got the 4 pieces. I called the company and she put dispatch on the phone. He said I forgot to text you not to worry about it. I wanted to reach through the phone and slap him or worse. Other than that not TOO shabby of a day....

Made "Brined" pork chops for supper. Put 1 cup each of salt and sugar into a pot with 1 gallon of water. Added garlic cloves, chilli flakes and a few other things I found in the spice rack. Left them soak for half the day and then grilled them. Very nice!!
