You raise a valid point. However, i still want to know where 200k can be made FIRST. Then I can inquire how much work is needed to achieve it.
Where can I gross $200k per year?

you can make 200,000 almost anywhere. i made mine at mercer. but again what you should be asking is where can i average the most per mile loaded and deadhead miles.
get that and 200,000 is easy.
you honestly are asking the wrong question.
200,000 aint worth a flip if ya got to run 150,000 or more to get itMommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
the LS guys i see must not be making 200,000 , lol -
Regardless the pneumatics are making 125-175 an hour from what I understand but you have to buy a 50k+ trailer and a 10k blower. For the amount of time you need to put into the oil field pneumatic jobs as an O/O its not worth it to me anyways. I like a life that doesent revlove around a desolate place in ND and working 70-90 hour weeks. If I worked at my current company job that much I would gross over 7k a month as well and I would see more than flatlands. IMO the oildfield work is not as lucrative as everyone says. -
Either system is easy to make 200k with today's fuel prices.
I figured the net vs gross was pretty played out already, but I'll just add if I only took 3 months off instead of 4 last year, I'd have hit $200k and netted far more than most that hit $200k, cuz eym smartt.blacklabel, Mommas_money_maker and LSAgentOZR Thank this. -
Because we lease drivers I talk to a lot of drivers that are leased on all over the place. Most are grossing 200k but few break 50k net on 130-140k miles a year.
So to your original question - where?
Go to a large truck stop, grab a rock, close your eyes and throw it. And the name on the side of the truck you hit you will likely be able to gross 200k.Mommas_money_maker and blacklabel Thank this. -
Net is WAY more important than gross. I only worked 188 days last year and only ran 85k miles. I netted enough that I had a very good year.
I always thought the whole idea of being an owner operator was to work less and make more.rbht, BigBadBill, Mommas_money_maker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I dunno I am a lonely reefer driver with 48 foot junk and I am on track to gross 300 plus this year. Good luck to ya.
Cbmzx, Travelinman and Mommas_money_maker Thank this. -
