I saw a safety video where they did a static roll over on a truck. They said the force on one full soda can kill you. I couldn't imagine what it would look like at highway speeds.

Everyday someone is buying gear, someone is selling it. Buy used stuff and don't finance with the house for anything ever.

I got some kinda close. The other is two hours away. And yes, some junkyards are really proud of their parts. Lol

Looked again just now for a headache rack, and I was pleasantly surprised. $800ish, includes chain locks and the mudflaps already in place. Waiting until I get the bill for my inframe before I actually go buy anything, tho.

In my area there's quite a bit of flat bed work so all of time the dealers will have a post it board or know some one who is selling out. Same with the local smaller truck stops around shippers etc. the last big carrier l worked with used to sell used equipment dirt cheap because they had so much of it. Post a couple want ads around and give it a couple weeks before wasting money is my advice.

verduyn tarps has a location in Garry, IN and Detroit, Mi, they sell everything you need including rack. as far as used equipment goes sometimes you can get lucky other times its just junk. honestly straps and stuff like that are not something i would cheap out on. you can find used tarps fairly easily online and at tarp shops themselves.

stay away from buying your gear at places like the Iowa80, they do carry some stuff that's useful but the majority of their gear is over priced.

Yeah, at one point I had drawn up a spreadsheet comparing best prices at various suppliers, I'll have to dig it out and verify numbers. TarpStop seemed to have the best overall, IIRC.
