Nebraska dealership execs and 80 cars missing

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. There's no wheeling or dealing at a car dealership in western Nebraska. Three top executives are missing and so are about 80 cars.
Police in Scottsbluff are investigating the suspicious removal of the cars from the Legacy Auto Sales dealership and the disappearance of owner Allen Patch and two managers.
Dealership employee Miranda Cervantes told the Scottsbluff Star-Herald that she returned to work Tuesday after a day off and found the lot was virtually empty.
Cervantes said 25 to 30 Fords were loaded on trucks and removed Saturday and about 50 Toyotas were taken away Monday night.
And she said the desks of the owner and the two managers had been cleaned out.
Police Capt. Kevin Spencer said the dealership has had financial difficulties.

Police, others curious where cars went

SCOTTSBLUFF - One by one, somebody loaded Toyotas onto trucks Monday evening from the Legacy Auto Sales dealership in Scottsbluff and drove off into the night. Several hours later, dozens of cars were gone. Now plenty of other people, including Scottsbluff police, want to know what's going on.

That includes Miranda Cervantes. After a Monday off, Cervantes, an employee at Legacy, expected a normal day at work. Instead, she discovered that three management team members had disappeared without a word to the staff and possibly took more than 80 Ford and Toyota vehicles with them.

"It's been a very surprising day," Cervantes said. "As soon as I came in, I knew something was wrong."

3 Nebraska Auto Dealership Executives Charged in Theft Investigation

OMAHA, Neb. Police have arrested three executives from a troubled Nebraska car dealership where 81 vehicles worth roughly $2.5 million as well as the executives themselves vanished in recent days.
Legacy's owner Allen Patch, 52, and controller Rachel Fait, 37 were arrested separately in Tooele County, Utah. The dealership's 53-year-old general manager, Rick Covello, turned himself in to Scottsbluff police Thursday morning, Capt. Kevin Spencer said.
