Lighting engineers know as much as the engineers who designed
The egr and vgt. What do they have incommon? - these
Both groups have the the piece of paper that says what they have
Finished. Then, they both engineer the product that shows
    How much they really know.

Does anyone here think that the egr and the vgt have been performing well for them and these are great to have? Anyone can think of the way how these extend or improve the reliability of your motors?- even though, you are not the engineer.

How about vnl owners. How many vnl owners believe that the lighting engineers have done marvelous job in installing your halogen system in your truck and you just see no way to improve this? -even though
You may not be the lighting engineer!

Engineers as well as philosophers and job security.

Engineers will engineer the product which will require the support
Of that engineer for the product's operation.

Philosophers will write their Philosophical views/facts, which can only be re-written by the same or another philosopher into the understandable English language.

The most dangerous part of the attempt to "retrofit" Xenon headlamps is that sometimes you get a deceptive and illusory "improvement" in the performance of the headlamp. The performance of the headlamp is perceived to be "better" because of the much higher level of foreground lighting (on the road immediately in front of the car). However, the beam patterns produced by this kind of "conversion" virtually always give less distance light, and often an alarming lack of light where there's meant to be a relative maximum in light intensity. The result is the illusion that you can see better than you actually can, and that's not safe.

Exactly my point. I learned all about this after the fact back when I converted my '98 F150 several years ago. The headlamp was not designed to scatter the light correctly. It did exactly as the quote above stated and made the area immediately in front of my truck light up very well but out to a distance my visibility was reduced drastically. Technically, when driving at night a person should never drive faster than the distance they can see with the headlights on. When they are on bright you can drive a tad faster but you should never be driving so fast that you cannot come to a complete stop within the distance that your headlights light up. HID's in a headlamp housing that is not designed for HID will reduce the distance you can see but the way they light up the area immedately in front of you will give you a false sense of security. Aftermarket projector headlamps will not fix anything either. Only factory housings engineered to scatter the light properly are what should be used.

Nobody is forcing anything down your throat. There are millions of people who chose and will choose hid over projector
Light bulbs in their headlights. Plus, I believe this threat was started about the vnl. So, check the vnl lighting equipment first, before making any accusations .

we are talking about upgradeing to HID in a VNL that has projector headlamps and last time i checked a 1998 FORD F-150 DIDN'T have projector headlamps so how could what you did years ago have anything to do with what we are talking about now....?

if you said that you had done it to a 2004 (or newer) vnl then you could make a point but you can't make the point when the truck you did it to didn't have projector headlamps. AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT...
