Some of those mega fleet ETF cards will only work at the stops on their fuel route. Except for DEF and reefer. But tractor your cards gets declined.

I don't understand that statement. FUEL.....Reefer or Tractor, gets you fuel points. DEF?? I don't think that counts. I think the average trucker showers once or twice per month....so....you can bank...or bum showers pretty quickly!

My first company, for example, sent me fuel solutions with my dispatch and I had to follow them. If I got dispatched at Loves, and I wanted to fuel across the street at the J instead, my ETF card will decline tractor fuel.

The exception is DEF and reefer. You can fill those anywhere, it doesn't matter.

My current carrier sends me solutions, but it's not set in stone following it. They just whine and complain a great deal when I dont and threaten to slow my truck down.

Thanks. I fuel wherever my company sends me. Loves or PFJ. Always on the route to my destination. Its their money....I don't understand the reluctance to scheduled fuel stops.

That's not a huge deal for me either.

Sometimes the fuel solutions won't be on a path the driver wants to take. Maybe due to a storm, or some highway they would just rather avoid.

Sometimes they'll tell you to just get like 60 gallons, then drive across the border, stop again and get 60 gallons again. Lol

Its annoying sometimes, but not a huge deal.

I understand on a large fleet, the company can save a lot of money making a driver stop twice a day to fuel.

But from the drivers perspective, it's only saving about $5.00 total maybe. They can just take 5.00 off my check. I don't really want to stop twice. It usually costs me more than what the company saves. Especially if you get there and every lane is occupied and the drivers are nowhere to be found.

I never stop twice in a day to fuel. I need to stop and pee at least Twice in 500 miles anyways! That's on a good day! Lol

My experience is usually when those megas give you a fuel route that has like 40 gallons here, 60 gallons there... every large company is going the same thing. So you'll pull in to fuel again and there's a line almost to the road.

Its just annoying. I'll do it the best I can.

But what I will not do is them trying to punish me for not following the fuel route as closely as they like.

Stuff happens, it doesn't always work out. They can slow down my truck if they want, but I won't be driving it.
