They were cutting just north of Princeton. It was in a low peat bog. It was 37 when I got there at 6:45. I guess it dropped below freezing just before sun up.

Sayre, OK for the night. Some nasty storms popped up ahead of me, and I don't deliver in NM till Sunday morning so i decided to shut it down a little early. I stopped in OKC and had my APU fixed. Aparently when Dynasys did a "wiring change" they forgot to make the ECM have a ground wire. Now it's working great

What kind of money do company drivers make?

I was at a truck stop and there was a sign that said flatbed pipe haulers wanted, $4-7 mile. Then it said $650 minimum weekly. Except I don't remember if those were 2 different signs or the same sign. The $650 sign was a home nightly, local job (Houston).

I'm driving a rollback with a 27' flatbed doing local heavy haul in Houston. The last 3 weeks of August I grossed $4200-4700 for the truck a week. I get 25%. I was making $1025-1200 a week. With Labor day, things were slow last week, I only made $2800 to the truck last week. Two days, I sat from 11am onwards. But I had an out of town run on Friday that paid good, so I still made $700.

I think $900 would be a safe average that I'm making now that I have my customer base built up. I'm home every night. I wanted to move up into a truck and trailer mostly for the experience but part of me thinks, I've got a good thing going and I shouldn't rock the boat just yet. I asked for a 2% raise today and got it. I would have gotten it regardless at the end of October after 6 months is up but they gave it to me to keep me happy in the rollback since I've been training other drivers and they've been going in the rollback trailers.

You won't make that driving a company truck, and you'll be gone weeks at a time.... I'd stick with your job you have now and enjoy your nights at home and steady income.

Franklin, Kentucky across from the J. Evidently the load I brought up from Alabama was already in Louisville two weeks ago and was rejected and sent back to be redone. So they redid it and I brought it up only to be rejected again. They must love spending money on trucking and permits.

Lincoln, NE. Got here in the nick of time, game in town tomorrow and anything permitted headed west has to be at least to the 395, no travel between here and the IA line on game days.
