Let me take a moment to complement the wisdom of the o/ops that take off from Mid December through February. This week is pretty much a disaster. So cold around home we have customers that are closed, other that can't get equipment started and trucks that don't want to run. 5 parked all day around the IL/IN border. 3 more that went to SHCs house because they couldn't go across the North side of the state. 5 more parked in WV because of a snow emergency in Garrett County Maryland. This week is a total bust. I can't remember one this bad in the recent past. Even when we get a pile of snow at home, we usually manage to get a good chunk of the fleet out before the snow. This time there was no where to hide. Is it almost March yet?

Almost forgot... I saw a swift Cascadia yesterday heading north on I-5 pulling and RGN. He was empty but I had to do a double take at what I was looking at

I counted 36 big trucks either broke down or limping between Mpls and Des Moines today.

I had a feeling it was coming, hence why I headed to Houston. I'm on I-10 near Slidell, LA and it's currently 25*. I didn't run to the warmth, but at least the temp from when I left home to the temp now is about the same lol

Be safe guys with the bad weather. Its only dropping to 56 tonight here in S.Florida, but you pay for this that's for sure, Got a truck heading to Atlanta with a OD load and the other going to Louisville with a loaded Container, Freight rates are real low here in Florida. Got two more to move and im thinking of moving them empty to Savannah if i don't find anything by Friday. I refuse moving freight for cheap. Hopefully this bad weather picks up the rates in the Midwest, keeps the cheap haulers out and the veterans in.

Well this year has me working and I'm really hating it.
Switching compaines and then the trl. breaking has really hurt.
I ended up bobtailing to Oh. for a trl. after being told to go to Houston..
I got paid, but it was like pulling chickens teeth.
So here I sit south of Columbus waiting for a ld. and it is so cold...
My air system frooze up this morning, so before even having my mornign coffee I'm out getting that thawed out.
My wife worries and wants to come back to help me.
I told her stay home and enjoy the warmth.
I got one buddy arriving Thurs in Thailand and another one there. And here I sit freezing my arse off and no work...
The bussiness ventures my wife looked at are both money pits.. Needs to much investment to bring things up

Stopped over at the Tennesseean on I65. Their country ham...is that good stuff or what? Had an adult beverage in the restaurant (country ham and beer, such a winning combination.

Big parking lot, mom and pop, big load friendly. However, you have to go under a 14'4 underpass if you're going south, they're to the east of 65, so if you're tall you may have issues if you're southbound.
