Started driving at 8pm. Breezed through Houston. Houston looked good. Beaumont looked worse than San Antonio. Much worse. Got near Lake Charles. Trucks were lined up on the shoulder for miles at the high rise. There were no signs saying the high rise was closed. Had to left lane it all the way up and over because the fours were panicky.
Trucks were sitting on the shoulders everywhere. Guess they ran out of time on the elogs. Road was greasy in spots. I couldn't do it. There ain't no way in hell I could sleep on the shoulder of a major interstate with slick roads. It would drive me nuts. Just sitting there waiting to get hit.
Well, they had the bigroad shut down at the 104. The 18 mile bridge was still down, US190 was down. That Petro2 was jammed to capacity and the service road completely filled and trucks sitting on the shoulder for a mile after that.
Unbelievable.
It almost feels as if they're ready to declare this a disaster area and call the national guard.SHC Thanks this. -
Well I just checked the web and the they are showing still closed.
Will call Baton Rouge city later to see if I will be able to run today.. -
Well to all who is down here in La.
I just called Baton Rouge city police.
Side roads are open and they still have the big bridge shut at least for oversize.
They are hoping by 9am things will be back open..
That's the lastest info I got -
Well I. 10 is a parking lot in Louisiana again.
-
I'm on I 10 @ the 100 mm right now headed eastbound. We're going nowhere fast. -
Makes you want to laugh, doesn't it? Oh the danger!
-
I just got ahold of the police in Baton Rouge, The bridge still has alot of ice. They are hoping around 10:30 he said. No promises though
-
the reason they were all on the shoulders was the i10 an i110 bridges were closed in lake Charles yesterday. I guess everyone reaches a point where they say screw it and go to bed, you should have waved when ya went by the petro in beaumont

I'm just out in front of you, I am at the 101 on I-10 in Louisiana.
