I tried that once, didn't help, just got me 72 hours in a rubber room with one of those really nice shirts with extra long arms and pretty leather accents.

Everything was fine until I jumped off 30. The load was just too big to make the right turn on SH 66e. Had to bypass it and make three lefts.

Bald Knob, Arkansas. Pulled into the Missouri scale on I57 this morning, pulled around back, walked in with my permit and the officer says "Hey I remember you from the last big load you were here with, go on ahead and have a nice day". I think I will bring them donuts the next time.

    Its what we do, right?

That turn on SH66e, you're on a 3 lane one way and you have to make a right turn onto a single lane road, pole on the corner to your right, and cars parked on the left. Load is wide and stretched. Difficult day. Hats off to you guys that make it look easy.

I'll try and dig up one of my old permits for a 17' wide out of Grand Prairie to the Oklahoma line on 287, the route takes 2 pages. Texas has a real sense of humor when it comes to routing.
