Yeah no DEF. I'm not interested in that unless brand new. Worst case with the '10 is I get a Blixxton box like my friend and EGR and DPF goes away. Not sure on the good deal yet, meticulous owner of 20 truck company, 8.1 mpg for the life of the truck per ECM. It always pulled very light loads as well. Gotta see if everything adds up when I see it as well as the finance numbers. I paid this one off in '08, and don't really want a payment again as it crimps my lifestyle a bit.

Well finally got a ld. Sad thing is it's Tues next week.. Will Dh. to the Phoenix area for it. Going to eastern Pa.
In the mean time I rebuilt my air dryer, replaced a bad air govenor and both air bags on my tag axle.. I really hate air leaks.

Carl, how do you make sure you have the correct weight on your list axle? Do you split weigh each axle?

I ask because I ran into a problem in OK when they split weighed me on the roadside. I set mine based in the table from the lift axle manufacturer. Was off by several thousand pounds.

Had weighed the groups on a cat scale and came out with this

Ok, what I used to do was when I ran a true lift axle was weigh the tridem together. Like you would normaly do. Tell them it will be a split weigh. Then pull the lead axle off the platform and put it on the steer platform and do a reweigh.
Then look at the difference on the two weighs.
Then check your air pressure setting and make notes. Repeat if you need to lower or raise you pressure to balance the axles out.
Is that clear as mud? Call me if you need to..

Kinda- I thought about weigh with it down and ten again up but it changes the steer.

Cost me $650 in OK yesterday and not so happy about it.

So if I am getting this correct, after the initial weigh, I pull the steer of the scale and split the drive axles so the lift is on the front plate and the drive tandem is on the second plate?

Or I pull the steer and lift axle off the scale and have just the drive tandem on the first scale plate?

Dropped the trailer in their yard, kinda in their way, and pulled the kingpin out and gave it a new home in my step box~!
The idiot actually caem up to my truck and said "Are you wanting to kill anyone yet?" Needless to say, the little wanker was about in tears by the time I finished with him, @20 minutes later....

Weigh it all with the three on the drive platform. Then pull up and get the steer off the steer scale and place the lead tri on it. That way your 2 rear drives are on the drive platform. Reweigh. Then get your ticket. Lets say you have 60 on your 3 drives. then you pull up and it shows 48 on the drives. That means you only have 12 on your lift. You need to add pressure.
Divide you your drive axle wight by 2 so it will show what each axle will be carrying on then look at your lift weight. Should be within 500 pounds once you figure out the amount of pressure you need to aplly to your lift. Keeps notes also and you will know later just how much you need for the weight you have up front
