Loaded up my water truck and made it a whole 175 miles over to the Terrell TA and decided to call it quits. Gonna head out at 0600 and go to Odessa. Unload Sunday, reload Monday and head back to Shreveport

I passed Martin and his big load on top of bitter creek hill today, of course he was running with another truck so he wouldn't talk to me.

Well we had an interesting day towards the end..
Started a little early from Weatherford, Tx. kinda snuck into curfew a little early.
So made it through Ft. Worth / Dallas ok. Took our detour no issues.
Get into Ar. and was making fairly good time, hoping to get east of Memhis today.
So we are running down on Us 70 as per the rting. Get to hwy 218 to head north ove to I40.
I hear on the radio there was a backup great.
Then I hear CRST, What are you doing?
Now I'm in my left turn onto 218 and looking at the ramp to east bound I40 and what do I see??
Yep CRST coming at me the wrong way on the on ramp..:mshocked:
Yep a team and they are both looking at me like I'm in the wrong..
Seems like they did'nt want to sit in the traffic jam and did a U turn on the on ramp so they could get onto US70 and go east.
Idiots. I kinda pushed my way through the turn and just asked them on the radio what are you doing. No reply

Ron, congrats on your new stinger. I dropped mine in Houston the other week. Not enough work for it right now.
Your stinger, does it shim at the front and back or just the back??
If front and back remember shim the front part to throw weight back and the rear to throw weight forward..
Do you have a mod. deck or a regular deck? If mod deck you can put shim there also to help level out your main running gear for weight transfer also

    Rontonio Thanks this.

    Carl,

I have so many shim places it is very confusing. I have a modular deck and am running a single shim, then I have an intermediate flip shimmed with a my 1", then the stinger has shims front and rear. I predict a steep learning curve.

Having never used a stinger, I was a little concerned when I heard about the reverse off tracking. Also about the bad things that happen when running empty without dumping the air pressure on the rear axle.

I may run as a 4 axle closed group if the freight is not there for the 3+1. Gonna ease into it. I will be about 58k empty, so should be able to load just close to 100k in a 20k axle state if everything is perfect.

    Ron

Wonder if that's the same CRST truck we saw in Baytown that bounced off the curb while backing up 3 times?? LOL
