Having the weekend off I went up to Greenbay for the Northeast Wisconsin Trucking Expo to walk around. Not a lot to see, I did look inside a 2014 Kenworth T680 with the 52" stand up sleeper. I actually liked the amount of storage it had in it for a smaller sleeper. I think that is one of the trucks our company has been looking at for the next round of new trucks. International had a 6x2 setup that the salesman told me has 8 different valves that when the truck starts spinning dump the air out of the tag axle and add air to the single drive axle to increase traction. All the while I was thinking to myself "That sounds like a nightmare, why not just put a dump valve on the tag axle and save yourself a lot of headaches?". The highlight was a 2014 Kenworth Michigan log truck with 20,000 front, 46,000 rears, 3 pusher axles and 1 tag axle powered by a 600 hp Cummins with an 18 speed auto shift transmission. Talked to the owner for about 15 minutes and he said this was the third truck they have purchased with the autoshift and so far they have not had problems even grossing upwards of 165,000 pounds. Went over to the "Driver Recruitment" center and got cornered for 10 minutes by a recruiter who just plain liked to talk. I usually wouldn't have lasted the 10 minutes, but she had free bags of popcorn and a nice set of bo obs............and I do like popcorn. And to be honest I don't remember the name of the company, but that was good popcorn.

Wheeler ridge petro shop... Had a bracket that holds a light on the trailer fall off and the light was just laying on my dunnage so stopped to get it fixed. Decided to do a 10 and do some night truckin later on. I have gotten at least 10 points smarter from listening to all the super truckers telling the people working how to do their jobs. I'll have to find a pair of fingerless gloves and join them if I stick around too long
