Cool. They are around.
I have the 1940 MM ZTU that my great grandpa bought brand new. My grandpa quit school to run it doing custom work in the fall to help pay for it.

Dealing with some issues, still no AC, hopefully have that fixed this weekend.
The 18 speed is great although really tight, got a good scare when I threw a load on and the gauge read 300° checked it with a laser thermometer, turns out the gauge is reading about 110° high.
The only thing I am not liking is that the truck is now very slow. It topps out at 63 mph at 1800 rpm.
I did the math and discovered I have 4.10 rears, not the 3.70's that it is supposed to have.
Going to swap them out soon, not sure if I will go 3.7's or 3.55's, might even get nutty and go 3.36'es we will see but don't want to get too tall.
I am having some power issues but the band clamps on the turbo are leaking, had new ones ordered but they didn't show up by the time I had to hit the road, right now truck only wants to make 23-24 psi of boost.
It has all new tires on it, new u joints, and she is going down the road really smooth, that I am pretty happy about.
For now to fix the AC going to throw another grilldenser in it, eventually I have to swap out the front cross member for a later model and get the shorter boost tubes for the air to air so I can move the radiator back to mount the air 2 air mounted condenser, that is going to be a huge project though.
Right now I just need this puppy making money, but when I do that I think I am going to upgrade the air 2 air with a PDI unit.
Also going to paint the motor when I am in there, also think I will get the boost tubes powder coated red then polish the ones from the breathers.
Truck feels great under me though, I am getting motivated now! -
Well, after one full week on the job I am convinced these people are trying to kill me. In one week I have lost 7 pounds, at this rate I should withered away to nothing by November 17th. Spent most of Tuesday and yesterday assembling a 550 ton crane so that they could change out a gearbox in a windtower. They changed them out today so we get to spend tomorrow tearing the whole thing back down. 24 truckloads in and 24 truckloads out.
passingthru69 Thanks this. -
Ugggggh can I borrow your satellite tv system Carl?? Finally got the last load off about midnight last night ran into town grabbed another one. Back up here by 3am pulled on location at 9pm hooked up but wait to blow. I went to bed and got woke up twenty minutes ago to head back to the staging area as they plugged the well again and have to bring in coiled tubing to clean it out. Looks like another 24 to 36 hours before they need sand again.

If I loaned it to you, the short one would be killing me and not happy with you.
How are they plugging up the well? blowing too much sand in on low pressure or what?
We got lded. in a fair amount of time. Now just waiting for La. to issue a permit and for the escort to show up..
Ty, look into the tail gator by V cube. Everrret has one. The guy with the old freightshaker and mini apartment, and it's an easy setup.. -

Load Monday in Ft Irwin to go home for a while. -
Flip neck or axle? What was giving you fits on it?
-
Axle
When I added the intermediate flip the trailer shop changed the trailer from quick connect to glad hands, only they didn't install #### off valves.
So I had trouble dumping the air out of the flip to remove the shims and pins plus I was loaded. So I am having to run with the airlines connected to the flip until I can make some dummy glad hands.
I never flip this axle so I am mad at my self -
Ok, Yes that would really make it a pain. Quick connects are nice.. Glad hands are a pain on that deal.
That and it being hot just makes things even more worse.. -
Can you just buy some glad hands with the shutoff vavles on them? I used to have some, but I think I left them on my old trl. when I sold it
